Taking a break from the crazy office scene, Community Outreach Coordinator, Page Davis held an important meeting with clients, Suede (left) and Quinn (right). Topics at the round table meeting included having to share catnip mice with some newer arrivals, reserving the sunniest spot on their patio during peak hours and increasing the number of belly rubs they get each day. By the looks of things, the meeting went well and an agreement was struck!

Cat Furniture Going away for Spa Time!
With over 100 cats scratching, relaxing, kneeding, etc on these cat pedestals every day, it was time for them to take a much needed break and go away for some R & R. With pedestal designers Cheryl and Craig McGruder at the wheel of their truck, the furniture was taken off site to be revitalized. Some pedestals barely had carpet coverage as the "gorilla" glue had failed them while others had noticeable shredding and gaping holes. As the trailer pulled away, the pedestals were almost giddy with excitement as they knew they would be returning soon enough even better than before and ready for action!!

Hank and Gracie Go Home!
Residents Hank (left) and Gracie (far right) were all tail wags and super size smiles when their new mom, Sarah Andrew of Charlottesville came by to take them home mid June. Both longer term residents of our sanctuary, the dynamic duo could harldy believe that at last it was their turn to fulfill their destiny as a valued member of a family. Paw wave farewell!

Barn Raising
We could not have asked for a better day or a better turnout of helpers. With a strong team of Barton Malow workers building the foundation for our new "barn" and energized volunteers stepping in to lend a helping hand, CFC dogs Watson and Sweet Pea carefully watched in awe as their new home slowly rose from the ground. Volunteers Emily, Craig and Cheryl worked like "dogs" today to do their part in this rebuilding effort. Much work lies ahead of us so feel free to come on out and pitch in tomorrow. The hammering and sawing party begins at 9am. Hope to see you there.

And Then There Were 4!
Fiona was a busy lady working through the night. Last Friday morning, our staff arrived at the Scratching Post to see what darling babies sweet Fiona had brought to us. This sleek mama with her tri colored jacket is "accepting" applications for her whole family to move into their new homes this spring. Stop by today and check out these great felines!

Beau & Bonnie Ready 4U!
With the heavy snows destroying our carport kennel area, Mary and Team have been feverishly working away to find creative, new homes for many dogs. While Beau and Bonnie are in their normal pen enjoying the snowy weather, we encourage you to come on out and see how many other dogs you can find "working" in new areas of the sanctuary. Cabin fever is starting to set in for some of our residents so feel to come on by and lend a helping paw!

The Animal Rescue Site needs your help!
The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than one minute to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals for free'. It doesn't cost a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site - please pass it along to people you know. http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/
